On Saturday, June 9, Mill Street will be closed to traffic at the intersection of Spring Avenue and Mill Street due to watermain work taking place at that intersection. Work will begin at 7 a.m. and continue until approximately 4 p.m., weather permitting.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to follow detours that will be posted in the area. Traffic will be detoured to Washington Street via Douglas Avenue and 6th Avenue.
While not associated with this project, motorists and pedestrians are advised that daily lane closures are taking place on Washington Street between Benton and Franklin avenues through Monday, June 11 for utility work that is occurring in that area. One lane of traffic will be maintained in both the northbound and southbound directions during the closures, which will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. All traffic will be shifted to the northbound lanes to accommodate work in the southbound lanes.
Motorists planning travel throughout the entire area should allow extra time to get to their destination.
