At least one City spokeswoman has said that if the Chicago Cubs were to come knocking in Naperville looking for a place to relocate, they would be met with open arms, the Chicago Tribune reports.

"[We] would take the Cubs seriosuly," spokeswoman Linda LaCloche told the paper. "We're already a destination point... We'd tell the Cubs you could add yourself to that."

The topic of the Cubs' potentially relocating to the suburbs has been floating around mostly as a hypothetical for a while, but gained credence this week when team owner Tom Ricketts suggested the idea of moving the Cubs from Wrigley if he can't secure the multiple upgrades to the field that he wants.

Other destinations mentioned in the article include Rosemont and Schaumburg; the paper compares the ideas to past ideas of moving the White Sox to Addison or the Bears to Arlington Heights.
