Police responded to The Lantern, 8 W. Chicago Ave., around 12:30 a.m. early Wednesday morning in an attempt to escort Darcie M. Ingerson, 22, of the 1900 block of Carlsbad Circle, out of the bar and into an awaiting taxi, police said.
Ingerson was allegedly "highly-intoxicated" and refused to leave after being asked several times by both police and staff. Police said she then became violent, kicking the officer several times in the leg and groin.
After a brief struggle, Ingerson was arrested and allegedly kicked the officer again before being put into a squad car, police said.
Ingerson was charged with aggravated battery, resisting a peace officer and criminal trespass to real property, police said.
Her court date is not known at this time.
