Naperville CARES Names Maria McTarnaghan Program Manager

Naperville CARES announces Maria McTarnaghan as the organization's first-ever Program Manager.

Naperville CARES has announced Maria McTarnaghan as the organization's first-ever Program Manager. McTarnaghan will be responsible for the management of all Naperville CARES programs including supervision of all client services, new program development, volunteer recruitment and training, as well as researching and maintaining relationships with all community resources.

McTarnaghan joins Naperville CARES with over 20 years of professional and volunteer experience. She holds a law degree from Duquesne Law School and has worked as a political fundraiser, manager for various political campaigns, and as a lobbyist and facilitator for Judicial Arbitration Mediation Services.

Maria has also been a Naperville CARES volunteer since October 2010 as well as volunteered extensively with St. Michael Church and Parish School in Wheaton and as a child advocate for CASA DuPage.

In her new role as Program Manager, Maria will be responsible for administering all the activities necessary to develop, operate and evaluate all CARES programs consistent with the organization’s mission of helping local families in financial crisis meet their essential needs by providing emergency financial support and resources.

“I'm so excited to take on this new role,” McTarnaghan said in a press release, “I look forward to working with all of the wonderful volunteers and community partners who help support the mission of Naperville CARES."

Janet Derrick, Naperville CARES Executive Director said she is glad to have McTarnaghan on board as the organization's first program manager. 

“I am delighted to have Maria join Naperville CARES as our Program Manager," Derrick said in a press release. "This newly created position is part of an overall re-staffing of the agency which will best position us to accomplish our strategic goals and priorities.”
