A family was forced from its home early Sunday morning when fire officials say a garage caught fire causing about $125,000 in damage, but no injuries.

The Naperville Fire Department responded to the fire call, which came in at about 3:35 a.m. in the 400 block of South Whispering Hills Drive, according to a news release from the Division Fire Chief Mark Ziemnik. Crews were on the scene within four minutes and discovered the fire in the home’s attached garage.

Crews attacked the fire ventilating the home and using several hoses to put out the blaze, Ziemnik said the news release sent out at 5:49 a.m. There were 25 firefighters and 10 pieces of equipment at the scene of the fire.

The fire was extinguished within 20 minutes, but the home was left uninhabitable, Ziemnik said. The family made arrangements for temporary shelter.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated, Ziemnik said.
