Police are seeking information about a suspicious incident and a possible child abduction that occurred Monday afternoon.

Two residents reported seeing a man approach a young boy at about 4:40 p.m. at the Country Lakes Park, 736 Genesee Drive, and walk away with the child, Naperville Police Officer John McAnally said.

The residents told police they saw the boy walk away with the man and lost sight of him as they walked near some trees. A bicycle that might have belonged to the boy was left behind, police said.

Police are trying to determine who the bike belongs to and the identities of the child and adult, McAnally said late Monday night. He said no reports of a missing child had been made in either DuPage or Will counties.

The boy is described as between 7 and 10 years old, with blond hair, wearing a gray sweatshirt with red sleeves.

The man he was seen with is described as 6-foot-tall and 200 pounds, wearing a dark knee-length coat, dark pants, black hat and gloves, Naperville police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Naperville Police at 630-420-6173.
