Police Blotter: Unlocked Vehicle Burglarized, Men Busted with Drug Paraphernalia

Wednesday, Feb. 8

Possession

  • Sarah Michelle Brumlik, 25, of the 22 West 700 block of Red Oak Drive in Glen Ellyn, was arrested at 7:33 p.m. in the 200 block of North Loomis Street, police said. She was charged with possession of cannabis. Her bond was $120.
  • Maxine Perez, 24, of the 5100 block of Pontigo Glen Drive in Plainfield, was arrested at 7:33 p.m. in the 200 block of North Loomis Street, police said. She was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was $120.
  • Melissa Ashley Mallinder, 20, of the 15000 block of Wood Farm Road in Plainfield, was arrested at 12:38 a.m. in the 1600 block of North Route 59, police said. She was charged with illegal lane use, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of cannabis, less than 2.5 grams and driving under the influence of drugs. Her bail was $3,000.

Felipe Calderon Jimenez, 21, Juan Bautista, 25, and Felipe Escamilla Valencia, 26, of the 800 block of North Loomis Street were arrested at 2:12 p.m. at their home, police said. Police were assisting the Department of Corrections at the residence and officers smelled the strong odor of marijuana outside of the home, said Sgt. Gregg Bell. A search of the residence turned up drug paraphernalia, but no cannabis. The men were each charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Valencia was also charged on a failure to appear warrant and with obstructing justice. All three were taken to the DuPage County Jail.

Suspended license

Rashon Lamar Harris, 30, of the 1200 block of Second Avenue in Aurora, was arrested at 3:21 p.m. in the 1900 block of Brookdale Road and North Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving on a suspended/revoked license. 

Warrant arrest

  • Dustin W. Lacewell, 24, of the 30 West 100 block of Allister Lane, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. at the Naperville Police Department, 1350 Aurora Ave., police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant. His bond was $300.
  • Brian James Malenke, 29, of the 1400 block of Fairway Drive, was arrested at 3:20 p.m. at the Naperville Police Department, police said. He was charged on a failure to appear warrant from DuPage County. His bond was $500.

Vehicle burglary

A 44-year-old woman in the 1100 block of Iroquois Avenue reported that her unlocked vehicled was entered overnight and CD’s and personal papers were taken, police said.
