“To that end, the Comptroller’s Office stands ready to work with business impacted by this natural disaster to prioritize delayed state payments. Likewise, the office will prioritize state payments for businesses contracting for clean-up and recovery efforts in counties declared state disaster areas, including [Cook, DuPage and Kane.]”

Affected businesses are being urged to contact the Comptroller’s Office at 217-782-6000.

Governor Pat Quinn has previously announced that individuals and businesses affected by the flooding with have until Oct. 31 to file their tax returns, ordinarily due on April 19.

“Families and businesses across Illinois need time to focus on rebuilding their businesses, homes and lives,” Governor Quinn said in a release. “Once families have recovered, they can pull together the necessary paperwork to file and pay their taxes.”
