President Barack Obama also observed a private moment of silence to honor the victims. Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick asked his state’s residents to observe a moment of silence as well. Bells tolled across the state following the minute-long tribute to the victims, according to the Naperville Park District.

Earlier on Monday in Medford, Massachusetts, hundreds attended the funeral of 29-year-old Krystle Campbell, who was killed one week ago in the bombings attack at the Boston Marathon, Watertown Patch reports.
