Naperville City Council will be looking at a packed agenda during Tuesday night's meeting.

Here's a rundown of the top items on tonight's agenda.

Downtown Water Street Hotel Developement

Council members will be asked to vote to approve the final plans of the "game-changing" downtown Naperville Water Street hotel development Tuesday. The 2.4 acre, multi-use development will sit south of the Riverwalk between Main and Webster streets. It will hold a 166-room hotel, retail shops, restaurant, office space as well as a 524-space parking deck.

The property is within a tax increment financing (TIF) district, but discussion regarding the project's financial matters has yet to be held.

2014 Budget Public Hearing

City Council will conduct a public hearing Tuesday on the proposed operating budget for 2014, which is $418 million. All interested citizens will have the opportunity to give written and oral comments. Following Tuesday's hearing, City Council is expected to adopt next year's budget on April 16.

Route 59 Expansion Project

Council will also vote to adopt two resolutions focusing on the Route 59 expansion. The scope of the project includes widening a portion of roadway from Ferry Road to Aurora Avenue/New York Street to three lanes in each direction.

The work will be conducted by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) with the city of Naperville having about a $1.6 million share of the multi-million dollar project.

The project also includes the implementation of an innovative diverging diamond configuration on the bridge over Interstate 88, sidewalks, a shared-use path as well as retaining and noise walls.

Main construction work for the Route 59 expansion project is expected to begin in spring 2013 and continue throughout 2014.

Riverwalk Additions

Council is expected to sign off on two additions to the Naperville Riverwalk. The first is a Soldier's Sculpture to be installed in the Exchange Club Veteran's Plaza, which was donated by Century Walk.

The Naperville Park District would cover the annual $250 maintenance cost of the sculpture.

Also, a proposed Eagle Scout project that includes two landscaped beds and a bench in memory of Rotarian Art Davis will be voted on for approval.

Tuesday's Naperville City Council meeting takes place at the city's municipal center, 400 S. Eagle St. at 7 p.m.
