With a winter weather advisory calling for 3 to 6 inches of snow for the Naperville area, local school officials announced a few changes to after-school schedules Tuesday.
Snow, Rain, Sleet Could Make for Messy Tuesday Evening Commute
Both Naperville School District 203 and Indian Prairie School District 204 have canceled all after-school activities Tuesday due to winter weather.
"Due to the weather, all after-school activities in the district are canceled for Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013. The YMCA's Safe-n-Sound program will operate as usual today," according to Indian Prairie School District 204.
District 203 posted a similar announcement on its website as well as via a TALK203 email to parents and guardians.
District 204 officials also said all district high school students will be released 20 minutes early to allow extra time for bus transportation.
All building rental activities taking place after school and this evening are also canceled, according to District 204.
Naperville Park District has also canceled all Tuesday activities with a start time of 3 p.m. or later.
Benet Academy in Lisle announced tonight's IHSA boys basketball playoff game against Plainfield North has been postponed due to the weather advisory. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Due to the postponement, the Naperville Central against Naperville North High School varsity basketball playoff game has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Benet Academy also canceled all spring sports Tuesday.
