Illinois Sheriff's Association Scholarships Available

From DuPage County Sheriff's Office:

Sheriff John E. Zaruba, along with the Illinois Sheriff’s Association, announced today that scholarships will be awarded to two DuPage County residents who wish to pursue higher education during the 2013-2014 academic school year. Each scholarship will be in the amount of $500.00. The scholarship is to be applied to tuition, books and fees only. The scholarship recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student at a certified institution of higher learning within the State of Illinois.

There will be no restriction on any applicant by reason of race, age, creed, color, sex or national origin. The only limitations are as follows:

  • Applicants must be permanent Illinois residents
  • Applications must be submitted to the Sheriff’s Office in the county of your permanent residence.
  • Scholarships must be used at institutions of higher learning within the State of Illinois
  • Students must be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2013-2014 school year (excluding summer session).

Applications are now available Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the DuPage County Sheriff’s Administration Office, 501 North County Farm Road, Wheaton, Illinois or on the Internet at www.dupagesheriff.org. Students must complete the application, answer the essay question and return all documentation to the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office by  March 15, 2013.
