Gardenia is a 2-year-old female domestic shorthair. Unfortunately, Gardenia has been waiting to find a family at NAHS for over a year. She was found just before New Year’s Eve in 2010 and has had a hard time adjusting to life at the shelter. All the sounds and people can be a bit intimidating for this sweet kitty, but once she gets to know somebody she loves to snuggle. Are you the right family to show Gardenia the world isn’t such a scary place? She promises to repay you with lots of love.
Jeremy is a four-month-old pointer mix. His foster family said this super sweet puppy loved to be around people and craved companionship. Jeremy would do best in a home with kids at least 8 years old and enjoys the company of other dogs and even cats. If you have the time and patience to train a puppy, this cutie may be just the dog for you!
More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society. All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped. They are spayed or neutered at adoption. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Visit at 1620 W. Meet Quincy, our resident mischief child! This purebred Beagle was surrendered to A.D.O.P.T. when he proved to be too much puppy for his previous owners young child. He is just under a year. An esteemed member of our training program, Quincy is eager to please and a lightning-fast learner. He knows the basics: sit/ down/leave it. Having earned his PhD in sit, he will usually perform this command well before being asked. He has wonderful eye contact and focus with his handler. Quincy would do best in a home with older children to maintain and advance his manners.
Bumble is a black domestic short hair that has been at A.D.O.P.T. since April of 2011. He was an owner give up due to allergies and moving. He is 4 years old, is easy going and as you can see, handsome! He would make an excellent best friend for anyone. He can be found in Comm 2.
