Candidates for the 2013 Naperville Park District Board of Park Commissioners election may file petitions at the Park District Administration Building at 320 W. Jackson Ave. through Dec. 26. A new state law was enacted during the recent veto session to move the deadline from Dec. 24 to Dec. 26.

Four positions will be up for election on April 9, 2013; newly elected commissioners will serve four-year terms.
Those who wish to run for a seat on the board must be at least 18 years of age and a Naperville Park District resident for at least one year prior to the election.
Bill Eagan, Gerry Heide, Mike Reilly and Kirsten Young are currently holding the four Board positions that will expire in April 2013.
Potential candidates must present a minimum of 312 signatures—two percent of the 15,574 ballots cast in the last Park District election—to complete the Nonpartisan Petition for Nomination. Signatures may be gathered until the time of filing.
The official filing dates and times are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, Dec. 17 through 21 and Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, also from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Park District offices will be closed Dec. 22- 25.
