Patch, Naperville Public Library Present: Neuqua on Drugs

It's raw, uncut and an hour-and-a-half dose of reality.

Next month, Naperville Patch and the Naperville Public Library will hold a special screening of the much-talked about student-produced documentary, "Neuqua on Drugs."

Student Filmmakers Tell Raw, Uncut Story of Naperville Youth Drug Culture

The documentary, which tells the uncut story of Naperville’s youth drug culture, will screen Dec. 3 at the 95th Street Library at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission for the screening.

Student filmmakers Kelly McCutheon and Neuqua Valley High School senior Jack Kapson, who will be in attendence Dec. 3, interviewed 25 high school students over the course of three months for the film. Some of the students interviewed remain anonymous with their faces and voices disguised, but all of their stories are emotional and uncensored. 

In May, the two producers premiered the documentary, “Neuqua on Drugs” at the 95th Street Library. Since then, they not only raised awareness about the issue, but also launched and successfully funded a Kickstarter project in order to put the documentary onto DVD. 

With $6,677 raised, the DVD is now available for purchase on the documentary's website.

Copies of the DVD will also be available for purchase on the night of the screening.
